Ideal candidate to have agricultural background; knowledge of accounting; computer skills; people skills and flexible schedule. You would be expected to attend a evening monthly meeting plus special events and committee meetings, take minutes at meetings and keep financial records, do banking and manage the website. Hours average 25-45 hours per month and you would work out of your home. Only those selected for an interview will be contacted. 2012 Locally Lambton Food & Fun Map!!

The LFA is pleased to announce that a new map will be released this year. Production is under way and applications are now being accepted from farm businesses wishing to be on the map. Please contact the office for applications or more information. Also pictures from around Lambton County are needed for the 2012 map. If you wish to take advantage of this free publicity please submit your pictures to the pffice.

The LFA would like to thank everybody that was inattendance at their annual meeting this past Friday, November 18th. There was a great turn out & Bryan Boyle gave an excellent speech recounting his years in agriculture. A reminder that there are many more annual meetings and events coming up over the next few months. Be sure to check the event listings for all the details.

There is still time to apply for the LFA Scholarships. There are 7 scholarships open to new and returning post secondary students.
Scholarship winners will be announced at the Annual Meeting on Friday, November 18th.

It is being proposed that Article #6 – Voting Privileges and Office, Item 2 (c) A staff member Ontario Federation of Agriculture shall hold a non-voting advisory position be stricken from the Lambton Federation of Agriculture’s constitution

The LFA would just like to remind everybody to practise safety first on the roads and in the fields. It is easy to forget safe equipment practices when you are in a hurry. And it is no doubt that everybody will be in a hurry after this wet and mild spring we’ve been experiencing.

All Candidates Meetings!

With a Federal election quickly approaching now is the time to get to know the candidates in your riding. Sarnia-Lambton Riding will have an All Candidates meeting Wednesday, April 13th at 7:30 p.m. at the Wyoming Legion. The Lambton-Kent-Middlesex Riding will have an All Candidates meeting Tuesday, April 19th at 7:30 p.m. at the Florence Community Centre. Plan to attend one of these meetings so you can make an informed vote on May 2nd.
LFA partners with Hensall Co-op in food bank donation!

The LFA has partnered with the Hensall District Co-op to donate white beans to the local food banks within Lambton County. The Hensall District Co-op donated 300lbs. and the LFA matched this donation for a total of 600lbs. of white beans. Thank you to the Hensall Co-op for helping to make this donation possible, the food banks were extremely greatful for this donation as the number of people using these food banks continues to increase.
